Sergeant Williams-K9 Ares

Hello, My name is Ashley Williams. I began pursuing a law enforcement career in 2010 by enrolling myself in the San Joaquin Delta College Police Academy, while also working as an EMT in Modesto, California. In July of 2011, I was lucky enough to be hired as a Level 1 Reserve Police Officer with the City of Newman. I continued to work both jobs until I was hired as a full time Police Officer on April 1, 2013, and was assigned to patrol downtown Newman. This assignment was brief, but allowed me to meet numerous business owners and residents of Newman. During my career, I have also been assigned to positions including Field Training Officer, an investigator with the Stanislaus County Auto Theft Task Force, and my current position of Police Corporal as of 2016.

In September of 2017, I became K9 handler of Ares, a Belgian Malinois born July 28, 2012. Ares is responsible for locating and apprehending criminals. Ares loves going to work and training, but on his time off, Ares enjoys playing with his toys, eating, scratches behind his ears, car rides, baths at A Yuppy Puppy, and long walks in the park. Aside from me, his best friend (and napping partner) is his cat sister, Lucy.
